Rentacrate Moves Into Dallas
Texans Can Now Think Outside the Box When Moving
DATELINE: DALLAS, TX; ISSUED AUGUST 7, 2002 . . .
Rentacrate, the company that's simplified the challenge of moving, has now come to Dallas, with a new 10,000 square-foot facility located at 8911 Governor's Row, Dallas -- giving Texans who are relocating a moving alternative.
"We are very excited to be bringing the convenience of Rentacrate's moving systems to Texas," said Michael Shanley, Rentacrate's C.E.O. "We have found that people in Texas are open to new ideas. We expect Dallas will be an excellent market for us, and also hope to be opening another office in Houston within the next six months."
Until recently, moving involved purchasing, assembling and -- eventually -- disposing of piles and piles of expensive cardboard boxes. All that changed in 1991, when Rentacrate first brought the European tradition of using rented plastic crates to America.
Rentacrate's "Complete Moving System" is a set of specially-designed, reusable plastic crates, dollies and bins that are rented as an alternative to traditional cardboard boxes. Rentacrate delivers these products to the customer before moving day, and then picks them up at the new location after the customer has unpacked them.
It was a truly revolutionary idea, and moving day will never be the same. Rented plastic crates makes moving quicker, easier, less costly and more ecologically sound.
With an extensive line of packing crates, plastic wardrobes, bins, computer crates and carts, Rentacrate offers products specifically designed for every moving need.
Rentacrates are crushproof, lockable and water-resistant. They are specially designed to stack securely on dollies, and to increase loading density on moving trucks. This can mean a significant savings, because due to better cubing there are fewer truckloads required to complete the move. And because Rentacrates require no assembly and no disposal, there's an additional savings of time and effort to those doing the packing.
Rentacrate is the brainchild of Michael Shanley (C.E.O.) and partner Karen Osborn (C.O.O.), who founded the company in Massachusetts in 1991. Today, there are Rentacrate locations in Massachusetts, new Jersey, Maryland, Georgia, Illinois and Texas, with plans for further expansion nationally.
